An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and hands‑on Production Manager to join a growing manufacturing environment within the heavy equipment sector. This is a key leadership role overseeing final assembly operations while ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency across production.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and oversee the final assembly of heavy manufacturing equipment
* Supervise and coordinate factory and assembly teams, promoting a lean and safety‑first culture
* Manage production schedules, resource allocation, and workflow to ensure deadlines are met
* Work closely with Operations and Engineering teams to keep production plans on target
* Ensure production outputs meet strict quality standards and dispatch requirements
* Implement, optimise, and continuously improve production processes
* Support the rollout and integration of MRP / production systems
* Monitor production performance and identify efficiency and cost‑saving improvements
* Chair daily and weekly production meetings and deliver toolbox talks
* Develop and implement quality vision, policies, and procedures aligned with ISO standards
* Design, maintain, and improve the Quality Management System (QMS)
* Conduct internal audits, inspections, and compliance checks
* Manage NCRs, CAPA, and corrective action processes
* Maintain accurate quality documentation and records
Requirements
* Proven experience in production or manufacturing management within heavy engineering
* Strong hands‑on leadership style with a solutions‑focused mindset
* Experience working in lean manufacturing environments with a strong focus on Health & Safety
* Confident using or implementing MRP / ERP systems
