About this Role
The Springfields Academy, Reach South Academy Trust is seeking an experienced Autism Support Worker (ASW) to join the school. Post: Autism Support Worker. Location: The Springfields Academy (North Site), Curzon Street, Caine, SN11 ODS. FTE Salary Range: Grade F, Pt 9 - 11. Actual Annual Salary: £12,782 - £13,412. Contract Type: Permanent, Part time term time only (39 weeks a year). Contract Hours: up to 19.5 hours per week.
About the role
The ASW works alongside teachers to deliver a personalised autism‑friendly academic and social skills curriculum, and supports families to implement functional skills within the home and community at our Calne site. The role involves leading interventions, providing support for learners with autism, and assisting in the development of their education, health and care plans.
Key skills
* Good knowledge and understanding of autism and social communication needs, with appropriate strategies such as TEACCH.
* Understanding of social, emotional, mental health, and cognitive needs affecting children and young people.
* Excellent listening skills.
* Ability to build strong, trusting relationships.
* Resilience and capacity to take responsibility for agreed learning and activities.
* Promotion and support of inclusion for all pupils in learning and social skill activities.
* Use of positive and personalised anxiety management strategies.

The Springfields Academy is a specialist academy for 250 pupils aged 4‑19 with autism and/or speech, language and communication needs. It offers high‑quality, research‑based education, a focus on personalisation, and is an Ofsted ‘Good’ school holding the NAS Advanced Specialist Award.
