This is a permanent role introduced following a successful interim period, created due to increased workload and a clear need within the structure. It offers real ownership of management accounts, where you’ll play a key part in maintaining high-quality financial operations while supporting ongoing improvements and projects.
What you’ll do
• Take ownership of management accounts, working closely with senior finance leadership while leading on delivery • Oversee month-end processes, ensuring accuracy across the nominal ledger and balance sheet • Prepare for month-end and year-end reporting, ensuring outputs feed accurately into statutory accounts • Manage and support junior finance team members, ensuring deadlines are met and workload is effectively distributed • Act as a key contact for budget holders, building strong relationships and providing clear financial guidance • Contribute to ongoing projects alongside BAU, including systems and process improvements
What you’ll need
• Strong experience in management accounting with a solid understanding of finance fundamentals • A proactive, self-motivated approach with the confidence to take ownership of outputs • Ability to act as a finance business partner and communicate effectively with non-finance stakeholders • Experience managing or supporting junior finance staff • Strong technical knowledge across month-end, balance sheet control, and reporting • Comfortable working in a changing environment with new systems and improvements
