Job Description
The In-house Property Solicitor will be:
* Managing a residential property caseload, including Right to Buy (RTB), shared ownership, staircasing, leasehold, and lease queries.
* Providing legal advice on the group's commercial property portfolio, ensuring risk is managed and legal governance is maintained.
* Drafting, negotiating and reviewing legal documents such as leases, transfer deeds, and tenancy agreements.
* Working closely with business teams (asset management, development, operations) to enable effective and compliant property transactions.
* Keeping up to date with property law, regulatory changes, and sector best practice, and translating these into pragmatic advice.
The Successful Applicant
The In-house Property Solicitor should be:
* A solicitor (or equivalent) with strong experience in residential property transactions.
* Experienced in shared ownership, leasehold, staircasing, Right to Buy or similar housing-sector property work.
* Comfortable with aspects of commercial property oversight.
* Excellent at drafting, negotiating, and providing clear, practical legal advice.
* A good collaborator - able to partner with non-legal stakeholders and translate legal risk into business-friendly language.
* Organised, proactive, and capable of managing a busy caseload independently.
