Description
Priory Hospital Burgess Hill is looking to recruit a Receptionist to join the team. This is a Bank role with the shifts of working 5pm-9pm Monday- Friday, and will also require adhoc hours of 9am-5pm or 1pm-9pm to cover annual leave, training and sickness. Set in attractive grounds in a rural setting, on the edge of the South Downs National Park, Priory Hospital Burgess Hill is a purpose-built building with good links to the local community. We offer acute mental health support for adult males, as well as psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) support for adult males.
Priory’s acute and PICU services aim to allow more people to be treated closer to home and we support the NHS to repatriate out-of-area patients back to local areas.
What you'll be doing
You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the hospital and to support the wellbeing of our patients. Whether you're assisting with day-to-day operations, supporting with care requirements, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here.
* Greets and assists all arrivals promptly at the Priory unit, and ensures that they are treated in a courteous, pleasant and efficient manner, and directed accordingly.
* Ensures that all telephone calls into main reception / switchboard are dealt with promptly and efficiently within Priory operational standards.
* Carries out administrative tasks as required.
* Ensures the appropriate security passes are issued, as well as then directing the visitor to the appropriate areas or individuals within the unit.

What you'll bring to the role

The role requires knowledge and education to at least NVQ Level 1 in a relevant area or GCSEs (or equivalent). Candidates should also have experience gained within a customer-facing environment, demonstrating the ability to work effectively with the public. Strong communication skills are essential to ensure clear, professional, and supportive interactions.
