We are a vibrant and fun-filled children's play gym and café, where families come together to enjoy playtime and delicious food and drinks in a welcoming and safe environment. We are seeking a friendly and energetic Café Assistant to join our team and help create an enjoyable experience for both children and parents. The ideal candidate should be bubbly, confident with excellent customer service skills and have a positive, can do attitude.
Job Description:
As a Children's Play Gym Café Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our café and play areas. You will be responsible for preparing and serving food and drinks, interacting with customers, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting children and families in the play gym area. Your main tasks will include:
* Taking and serving orders in a friendly and efficient manner
* Preparing food and drinks, including snacks, meals, and beverages
* Ensuring the café and play areas are clean, safe, and well-organized
* Assisting with the supervision of children in the play gym, ensuring they are safe and having fun
* Assisting with the supervision of children's birthday parties in the play gym, ensuring they are safe and having fun
* Providing excellent customer service and handling any queries or requests
* Adhering to health and safety regulations, particularly in relation to food handling and child safety
* Helping with setting up and clearing down the play gym and café areas
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver exceptional customer service
* Assist children and families in the play gym area as required
* Maintain exceptionally high cleanliness and hygiene standards
* Work as part of a friendly team to create a welcoming atmosphere
* Handle payments and ensure accurate transactions
* Carry out Stock Checks
Requirements:
* A minimum of one years' experience in a café environment or a hospitality environment is required
* A Food Hygiene Safety certificate is preferred but not essential
* A positive, friendly, and patient attitude
* Passion for working with children and families
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to work well within a team, whilst able to make initiative based decisions
* Must be available to work weekends and school holidays
To meet food hygiene and safety regulations, all staff must follow our uniform and appearance policy. This includes:
* No jewellery worn on shift
* Hair must be tied up at all times while working
