As a Finance officer you will be joining the Management Accounting Team providing detailed budgetary support to clinicians, managers and staff across the organisation gaining working knowledge of forecasting and budget planning.
We’re looking for a flexible, confident and motivated individual to join the Management Accounts team of Torbay and South Devon Foundation Trust, on a permanent contract working 37.5 hours per week.

Main duties of the job
* To provide a high quality level of support to the Management Accountants.
* Responsible for the production of timely, accurate and relevant monthly Management Accounts ensuring financial information is processed in accordance with deadlines and procedures including pre-determined budgetary limits.
* Responsible for Directorate monthly accounts production, review of variances, regular contact with the budget holders to discuss movement to plan and forecast position. Provide financial support with regards to skill mix costings, support to Business Case costings.
* Responsible for ensuring that the monthly Trust wide financial tasks are completed within the team.
* Use various financial systems to collate, analyse and distribute data contributing to the financial performance framework of the Trust and statutory returns in line with legal requirements.
* Liaise with external suppliers and organisations with sensitive and contentious issues such as delays in payment, disputes in service charges, miscoding, and advise all relevant contacts in such area.
* Maintain Trust wide data and databases relating to specific areas of income and expenditure.
* This will include ensuring financial information is processed into the finance ledger in accordance with procedures and accounting timetables, leading to the provision of information for monthly reporting.
* The post holder will play a support role in the annual budget setting process and year end accounting process.
