Where Will I Be Working?
You’ll be working in one of our Supported Living facilities in Carlisle. We strive to create positive family-like relationships, offering a strong circle of support. Our focus is on person-centered care, which includes activities like shopping, managing budgets, and cooking. We tailor our services to empower individuals to be as independent as possible.
We utilize a digital social care record system to streamline daily tasks, allowing you to spend more quality time with the people we support.
Shift Patterns
This is a 24-hour service, so flexibility is essential. You’ll be working a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends.
Role Responsibilities
What Will I Be Doing?
This hands-on role means no two days are the same! Your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, communication difficulties, and challenging behavior.
* Providing personalized support tailored to individual needs.
* Assisting with personal care and daily living activities.
* Encouraging independence and control over their lives.
* Investing time to understand how to deliver effective support and improve quality of life.
* Delivering outcome-focused support to enhance skills and interests.
* Maintaining accurate records to facilitate effective reviews and action plans.

What Skills and Qualities Do I Need?
You should possess the right attitude and transferable experience in helping people manage anxiety. While knowledge of learning disabilities and complex needs is beneficial, what’s essential is that you are:
* Passionate, caring, and enthusiastic.
* Flexible, patient, and non-judgmental.
* A great team player with plenty of energy.
* Skilled in effective communication.
* Able to handle the physical aspects of the role, including manual handling when necessary.
Drivers are desirable but not essential.
