About the Role
Empowering Learning is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary School in East Riding HU9 5SN to recruit a SEND Teaching Assistant. The school supports pupils across a range of ages and abilities, including children with SEND and SEMH needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children's learning, wellbeing, and development in a nurturing school environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support pupils in the classroom, both one-to-one and in small groups
Assist with behaviour management using de-escalation and restorative strategies
Help create a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment
Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider school team
Support pupils with additional needs to access learning effectively
Requirements
The ideal candidate will:
Be confident working with children and able to build positive relationships
Communicate effectively with pupils, staff, and parents
Manage challenging behaviour calmly and professionally
Be able to work independently and as part of a team
Have experience or a strong interest in working with children, particularly those with SEND/SEMH needs
Hold a driving licence (desirable, not essential)
