The Opportunity
Due to significant strategic expansion, Preston Plywood is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Fire Door Technical Assistant to join our specialised manufacturing division. This is a pivotal office-based role designed for a professional who possesses a deep technical understanding of fire door compliance and the drive to manage projects from inception to delivery.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Fire Door Division Manager, you will be instrumental in the end-to-end lifecycle of our production. Your responsibilities will include:
* Conducting thorough contract reviews and issuing precise order confirmations.
* Managing purchasing requirements and generating accurate Bills of Materials (BOM).
* Creating detailed works orders and monitoring factory production.
* Conducting final inspections to ensure every unit meets rigorous safety standards before delivery to the client.
Candidate Requirements

Essential:
* Technical Expertise: A comprehensive understanding of Field of Applications (FoA), fire door components, and construction (including frames and hardware).
* Industry Experience: Proven experience within a fire door manufacturing environment.
* Precision: Exceptional attention to detail, particularly regarding compliance and technical specifications.
Advantageous:
* A professional background in joinery.
* Practical understanding of fire door installation requirements
