CNC Turner - Precision Engineering
Salary:
* Base salary of up to £36,504 per annum (to £18.00 per hour)
* Overtime pay of up to £27.00 per hour (Time and a Half of the hourly rate)
* Excellent earning potential with ample hours available
* Standard work week of 39 hours with a Friday finish at 12:00 mid-day
Location:
* Based in the Cambourne - Gamlingay - St. Neots area
* Own transport required due to location
Position Details:
* Permanent, full-time position

We are in search of a proficient CNC Turner to join our client's precision engineering team. The ideal candidate should possess the skills to set up, operate, and program CNC Lathes, with a specific interest in experience with Doosan 3 axis Lathes and Haas machines.
Responsibilities:
* Operate and program Doosan 3 axis Lathes and Haas machines to produce precision components as per engineering specifications.
* Interpret engineering drawings and work instructions to determine machining operations and set up requirements.
* Utilise measuring equipment like micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure the accuracy and quality of machined components.
* Inspect finished components to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications.
* Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during the machining process.
* Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring proper maintenance and servicing of machines.
* Collaborate with team members to optimise production processes and enhance efficiency.
* Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations to ensure a secure working environment.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a CNC Turner.
* Beneficial to have experience operating Doosan 3 axis Lathes and Haas machines.
* Proficient in setting up, operating, and programming CNC lathes.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
* Strong knowledge of measuring equipment and effective usage.
* Attention to detail with the ability to inspect components for quality and accuracy.
* City & Guilds qualifications or apprenticeship in Engineering would be advantageous.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machine issues.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Hours:
* 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday (Early finish on Fridays).
* Start time: 7:30 am.
* Finish times: Monday 4:00 pm, Tuesday 4:30 pm, Wednesday & Thursday 5:00 pm, and Friday 12:00 mid-day.
