Job Title: Counsellor & Wellbeing Adviser
Hours: 21 hours a week (over three days) during term time only, over 40 weeks per year.

Student Services supports students throughout their journey from pre-entry to post-exit. The service fosters a student-oriented culture, prioritizing students' needs in all activities.
Role Overview
As a key member of the frontline team, the Counsellor & Wellbeing Adviser will support students' mental health and wellbeing through individual and group counselling, workshops, and drop-in services. The role involves collaborating with college support services to ensure a holistic approach to wellbeing. Responsibilities include maintaining confidential records, adhering to safeguarding policies, and engaging in continuous professional development.
Qualifications and Experience
* Registered professional with substantial counselling experience, especially with children and young people.
* Qualification in Counselling at Diploma Level or higher.
* Membership of an ethical body such as BACP, UKCP, or NCS.
* Experience in providing professional Wellbeing Support services, particularly with young people.
* Strong empathy, communication, and caseload management skills.
Skills and Knowledge
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Understanding of safeguarding processes.
* Knowledge of external support agencies, data protection regulations, crisis management, and referral procedures related to safety planning, risk assessment, and information sharing.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Information
The successful candidate will be eligible for salary increases based on the annual cost of living review in the upcoming academic year.
