Laboratory Manager People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Laboratory Manager for our client based in Dukinfield. They are a well-established and highly respected independent organisation within the geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing sector. This is an exciting opportunity to join a UKAS accredited laboratory where you will play a key role in leading operations, driving quality standards, and shaping future growth. Shifts: Monday - Friday: 7.45am - 5pm Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum depending on experience Benefits include: Your benefits as a Laboratory Manager are: Employer pension scheme Generous annual leave bank holidays Ongoing training and professional development Supportive, collaborative working environment Opportunity to influence and improve laboratory operations Day-to-day duties: As a Laboratory Manager your duties will include (but not be limited to): Manage all laboratory testing operations across soils, aggregates, concrete, and bituminous materials Ensure full compliance with UKAS accreditation and ISO 17025 standards Maintain and develop the quality management system, including audits and corrective actions Supervise, train, and mentor laboratory staff Plan workloads and ensure timely turnaround of client projects Oversee calibration, maintenance, and procurement of laboratory equipment Manage laboratory health & safety, including risk assessments Support business development and continuous improvement initiatives Essential skills: To be successful as a Laboratory Manager, you will need : 5 years' experience within a materials testing laboratory environment Previous experience in a supervisory or management role Strong knowledge of UKAS accreditation / ISO 17025 Excellent organisational and communication skills Strong technical understanding of materials testing and standards Proactive approach to health & safety Training: Full training will be provided, with additional support throughout.
