Modus Careers is partnering with a design studio where creativity meets delivery, a place where ideas are nurtured, tested and ultimately built. From a characterful studio in the Essex countryside, this team delivers hospitality interiors that balance brand storytelling with the precision of architectural thinking. Every project has a tangible outcome, creating spaces that are visually engaging and function beautifully for the people who use them.
We are searching for an Interior Designer or Interior Architect who enjoys variety and takes pride in seeing their work realised. You will sit between concept and construction, shaping ideas, guiding design direction and taking responsibility for how each detail is executed. This is not a visualisation role. It is a hands-on position where you will work with architects, suppliers and clients to bring brand-led environments to life.
The immediate focus is a nationwide hospitality rollout programme, typically delivering between ten and fourteen projects each year. You will take responsibility for multiple sites, leading design development and supporting delivery while being backed by a collaborative and ambitious team. As the project pipeline grows, your opportunity to step into more senior responsibility will grow with it, offering a natural pathway towards brand and project leadership.
What you will be doing
* Translating client briefs into intelligent and brand-led design concepts
* Preparing drawings, moodboards and presentation packs for client reviews
* Leading FF&E specification, procurement and scheduling
* Supporting contract administration and on-site delivery with the architectural team
* Presenting ideas confidently and contributing to workshops and client meetings
* Travelling nationwide to oversee projects and ensure design quality on site
What you will bring
* A degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or Architecture
* Experience within commercial or hospitality interior projects
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop and InDesign
* Strong understanding of materials, detailing and joinery
* A proactive, organised and collaborative mindset
Why join
* 25 days of annual leave
* Performance-related bonuses twice each year
* Tailored development plans and CPDs to support your progression
* Mentoring from senior designers and architects
* Immediate exposure to brand-defining hospitality projects across the UK
This is a role for a designer who wants to build a long-term career rather than add to a portfolio. It suits someone who values the full journey of a project, from the first sketch to the moment the doors open.
