We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a motivated SLT to join our CAMHS Community Multidisciplinary Team. This post is ideal for:

* An experienced B5/B6 SLT ready to progress in their career.
* A current Band 6 seeking to expand their specialist skillset
* An SLT with strong foundational experience who is keen to move into CAMHS for the first time

Main duties of the job

You will be contributing to a multi-disciplinary service supporting children and young people accessing CAMHS. This will include:

* Carrying out individual Speech and Language Therapy assessments and produce reports and recommendations for implementing communication reasonable adjustments
* Providing specific speech and language therapy interventions to individuals where appropriate
* Liaison and advice with families, carers, education and health care colleagues in how to support CYP with SLCN with/without neurodevelopmental differences in order to facilitate reasonable adjustments and increased access to services.
* Highlighting communication risks and recommending reasonable adjustments when providing 1:1 interventions and when formulating MDT input.
* Contributing directly to offering bespoke therapeutic interventions working with service users, carers and families, the MDT and other agencies.

SLTs in CAMHS are a core part of the multi-disciplinary team, supporting the understanding of the patients communication needs.

Contractual requirements

* Ability to travel between sites, patients home and educational settings
* A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.


Physical requirement

* Ability to perform the full range of duties
* Physical skills in line with MVA


Qualifications

* Recognised SLT Degree/diploma/Masters (pre‑reg)
* RCSLT Registered
* HCPC Registered


Training

* Portfolio of relevant post‑qualification CPD
* Post‑basic dysphagia training or completed competencies


Experience

* Working experience of assessing and managing caseloads within clinical area
* Experience of effective multi‑disciplinary/agency working
* Experience of enabling different staff groups to understand issues around communication
* Experience of supporting students and other staff
* Experience of delivering a variety of approaches to SLT service delivery
* Experience in developing evaluation/audit tools and resources as part of SLT team
* Experience of delivering learning and development opportunities for others


Knowledge

* Knowledge of SLT delivery including the use of different approaches and multi‑disciplinary working, across different contexts and environments.
* Knowledge of national policies and procedures (relevant to the client group)
* Knowledge of different assessments and interventions for developmental language disorder, autism, learning disabilities and other neurodevelopmental conditions.
* Knowledge of different assessments and interventions for SEMH and autism.


Skills
