GSL Education are looking for an SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Sheffield. As an SEMH TA, this is a fantastic opportunity to provide targeted support to pupils with SEMH needs, helping them engage with learning, develop coping strategies, and thrive in a nurturing and inclusive environment. As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will: Support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs in 1:1 or small group settings. Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and structured activities tailored to SEMH pupils. Help pupils develop social skills, resilience, and confidence. Monitor and report on pupils’ progress and behaviour. Contribute to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment. Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant : Previous experience supporting children with SEMH needs in school settings. Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach. Strong communication and teamwork skills. An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
