Are you a Graduate Geologist with a strong interest in Engineering Geology, ground investigation, and contaminated land? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a specialist Engineering Geology consultancy in Manchester, working on technically challenging projects across the built environment and infrastructure sectors.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to develop within a highly technical, geology-led consultancy, gaining hands‑on experience in both geo‑environmental and geotechnical disciplines.
The Role
As a Graduate Geologist, you'll play a key role in delivering ground investigation and engineering geology projects, including:
* Supporting and producing Phase 1 Desk Studies
* Assisting with the design and supervision of Phase 2 Ground Investigations
* Soil and rock logging to current standards (BS5930 / Eurocode 7)
* On‑site supervision of drilling, trial pitting, and in‑situ testing
* Contributing to a range of technical reports including factual and interpretative reports, contaminated land risk assessments, and remediation strategies
* Supporting project delivery and client interaction
You’ll be given early responsibility and the chance to get stuck into complex projects, while working within a supportive and experienced team.
About You
To be considered for this Graduate Geologist (Engineering Geology) role, you should have:
* A degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, or a related Geoscience discipline
* A genuine interest in Engineering Geology, ground investigation, and contaminated land
* Strong attention to detail and report‑writing skills
* The ability to work both independently and within a team
* A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites
* The right to work in the UK
* Previous site or consultancy experience (placements or internships) would be beneficial but is not essential.
