Camp Manager - Summer - Canterbury, Kent
Working Hours: 08:00-18:00, Monday-Friday (Total hours will not exceed 47.5 per week)
Salary: £612.18 - £798.50 per week, depending on age, experience, qualifications, and camp size
(Contracts for February Half Term will be issued at 2023 wage levels. 2024 wage levels will be effective from 1st April.)
Report to: Area Manager and Central Office

CAMP MANAGER DUTIES
1. Lead induction training and oversee setup days before camp begins.
2. Complete paperwork and high-risk activity documentation in accordance with Barracudas Activity Codes of Practice.
3. Enforce health and safety regulations to ensure a safe environment.
4. Act as Deputy Designated Person (DP) for Safeguarding, handling child protection and safeguarding issues.
5. Communicate regularly with Area Managers and Central Office.
6. Maintain staff attendance records.
7. Manage daily camp operations, including site tours, equipment checks, financial records, stock control, parent communication, and staff management.
8. Delegate tasks to team members to ensure workload completion.
9. Organize staff briefings for effective communication.
10. Support your team to ensure smooth camp operations.
11. Liaise with parents and guardians.
12. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of site and storage rooms, and ensure equipment is packed away properly.
13. Serve as a point of contact for school liaison.
14. Assess and review staff performance at the end of the season.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Attend all compulsory senior training events.
2. Experience in childcare, holiday camps, or team leadership.
3. Legal eligibility to work in the UK.
4. Obtain an enhanced DBS check through Barracudas or have an existing one on the Update Service.
5. Provide satisfactory professional or academic references.
6. Attend and deliver induction training prior to camp opening.
7. Complete annual online training.
8. Coordinate camp pack-up at the end of the season.
9. Aim for at least half of senior staff to be Paediatric First Aid trained, depending on camp size.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Follow health and safety procedures diligently.
2. Proactively address safety issues.
3. Prepare for induction training using relevant manuals.
4. Maintain responsibility for health and safety on camp.
5. Conduct staff evaluations at the end of their contracts.
6. Report child protection concerns to Central Office.
7. Be aware of and assist with children’s additional needs, including medical or dietary requirements.
8. Administer medication following EI forms and document appropriately.
9. Bring swimwear daily for swimming sessions, if required.
10. Perform other duties as necessary for the role and organization’s objectives.
