We are expanding our team due to growth and are seeking an Automation Support Engineer for our Butter Plant at Market Drayton within Müller Milk & Ingredients. The role focuses on developing systems and personnel to enhance automation performance.
* Provide reactive support for automation issues with escalation procedures
* Apply structured problem-solving methods
* Manage minor automation Capex projects through their lifecycle
* Support automation components in other projects
* Coordinate site activities for group Capex projects
* Maintain automation and electrical system documentation and software control
* Liaise with the Automation Development team to align with standards
* Ensure compliance with electrical and automation standards for projects
* Manage obsolescence plans and criticality assessments
* Evaluate performance data to improve efficiency and operability
* Oversee risk assessments and health checks for control panels
* Support site improvement initiatives with automation expertise
* Utilize specialized skills for data validation and analysis
* Contribute to continuous business improvements
* Support quality, health & safety, environmental, and engineering roadmaps
* Propose ideas for process improvements
* Participate in improvement activities within engineering areas
* Understand the impact of actions on site/business goals
* Deliver on-the-job training to new colleagues
* Prioritize health and safety for self and others
Ideal candidate qualities:
* PLC experience
* Strong electrical skills
* Ability to work independently on projects
* Experience as an Automation Engineer
* FMCG industry experience preferred
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
* IT literacy
