Overview
Join our team as an Assistive Technologies Welfare and Safeguarding Officer and make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals. This vital role involves identifying and addressing welfare concerns through data analysis, welfare visits, and safeguarding referrals. You will work closely with Adult Social Care and other agencies to support clients facing complex needs, such as self-neglect or service misuse. As a key part of our Careline service, you will challenge and improve practices to ensure the safety and wellbeing of service users.
Salary: £27,943 - £32,253 per annum, dependent on experience
Hours: 37 hours per week - Monday to Thursday 8.45am to 4.45pm, Friday 8.45am-4.15pm or 2 week rolling rota, Monday to Thursday/Tuesday to Friday 0800-1745.
Location: Letchworth-based roles with potential for other nearby council sites; please note that you must live and work in the UK.
Responsibilities
* Identify welfare concerns and address safeguarding issues through data analysis, welfare visits, and safeguarding referrals.
* Collaborate with Adult Social Care and other agencies to support clients with complex needs, including self-neglect or high-demand service users.
* Support and improve safeguarding practices within the Careline service to ensure safety and wellbeing of service users.
* Manage multiple cases independently, prioritise tasks, and maintain detailed records to support client welfare.
* Present findings and recommendations to inform decision-making and contribute to operational improvements to reduce risks.
Qualifications and required experience
* Experience in welfare and safeguarding with a strong understanding of procedures and protocols relating to vulnerable individuals.
* Proven ability to analyse data and identify risks; experience in Adult Social Care or similar settings is preferred.
* Experience managing complex cases, including those involving self-neglect or high-demand service users, is essential.
* Strong collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams, ability to make safeguarding referrals, and ability to liaise with external agencies to achieve positive client outcomes.
* Ability to work independently to manage multiple cases, prioritise tasks, and maintain detailed records.
* Proficiency in IT (including Microsoft Office) and the ability to present findings effectively to inform decision-making.
* Experience in challenging and improving operational practices to reduce risks and enhance client wellbeing is highly valuable.
* Empathy, problem-solving, critical thinking, and strong interpersonal skills.
