Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Mathematics Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics and the ability to engage students in a dynamic learning environment. This role involves educating students at various levels, fostering a love for mathematics, and supporting their academic growth through effective teaching strategies.

Responsibilities

* Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
* Teach mathematical concepts across different year groups, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter.
* Utilise behaviour management techniques to maintain a positive classroom environment conducive to learning.
* Provide mentoring and support to students, helping them overcome challenges in their mathematical studies.
* Assess and evaluate student progress through regular testing and feedback, adjusting teaching methods as necessary.
* Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student performance and areas for improvement.
* Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated with educational best practices.
* Collaborate with special education staff to support students with additional learning needs, ensuring an inclusive classroom atmosphere.
* Engage in scientific research related to educational methodologies in mathematics when applicable.

Requirements

* A degree in Mathematics or a related field is essential; additional qualifications in education are advantageous.
* Proven experience in teaching mathematics at the secondary level is preferred.
* Strong proofreading skills to ensure accuracy in all educational materials provided to students.
* Knowledge of biochemistry or laboratory work is beneficial but not required.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to connect with students of varying abilities.
* Experience in behaviour management strategies to effectively handle classroom dynamics.
* A commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for all learners, including those requiring special education support.
* A passion for mentoring students and guiding them towards academic success in mathematics.

Please note: As this is a new position and we are still in the early stages of establishing the programme, some aspects of the role may evolve over time. While the position is currently intended to be in-person, there may be a need for remote working depending on circumstances. This will be discussed further during the interview process.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £10.00-£12.00 per hour
