Overview
Gorsemoor Primary School is excited to invite applications for a highly motivated, reliable, and professional Welfare Support Assistant to work one-to-one with a child in our warm and nurturing Nursery setting, starting September 2026. Key Responsibilities
* Support a child on a 1:1 basis in our nursery.
* Assist a child with personal needs and general health, and welfare matters with specific reference to toileting and changing as required.
* Supervise and support pupils, ensuring their safety by complying with good H&S practice.
* Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.
* Undertake routine administrative tasks, e.g. pupil record‑keeping as requested.
* Appropriate liaison with parents on general pupil matters.
Key Qualifications
The successful candidate must work under pressure, possess a high level of personal drive, energy and resilience, and have relevant experience. They should respond effectively to changing priorities, use initiative, have excellent organisation, confidentiality and professionalism. Training will be provided. Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills are required, as well as the ability to work effectively with pupils and their parents/carers.
