Croydon Council has made major strides in transforming its housing services, investing over £30 million in home upgrades, launching a new repairs contact centre, and completing stock condition surveys on 70% of homes. With a £166 million regeneration of Regina Road underway and a strong focus on safety, customer care, and resident-led change, Croydon is committed to delivering high-quality homes and services as part of its Future Croydon 2024-29 programme.
Your New Role
As Asset Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Croydon's housing investment strategy. Reporting to the Head of Asset Planning and Capital Delivery, you will lead a team of Data Analysts and Stock Condition Surveyors, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of asset data and driving the development of the asset management strategy. You will oversee stock condition surveys, manage asset data systems, and lead on portfolio management, including acquisitions and disposals. This role is central to ensuring compliance with Decent Homes standards and supporting the council's long-term housing investment programme.
What You'll Need to Succeed
Strong knowledge of asset management in a social housing environment.
Proven experience managing staff and delivering complex projects/programmes.
Ability to plan and manage a diverse workload with competing priorities.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience in managing asset data and using technology to improve service delivery.
Knowledge of project management principles (PRINCE2 desirable).
Qualifications
Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
Evidence of Continuous Professional Development.
Project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2) desirable.
