West Calder High School is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic classroom teacher. The successful candidate will support the school's vision and implement strategies to achieve this vision. This is a key post at an exciting time for education.

West Calder High School is a six-year non-denominational comprehensive school offering a progressive, relevant, challenging, and enjoyable curriculum with opportunities for personalisation and choice. We are committed to engaging students in their learning and ensuring all students have access to a high-quality educational experience. The current roll is approximately 1165 pupils.
Curriculum and Facilities
We offer a wide and varied curriculum, emphasizing the need for learners to succeed in their attainment. We value achievements in music, art, sport, technology, dance, drama, enterprise, and interpersonal skills. Our facilities include a theatre, swimming pool, dance studio, and music suite. A relevant teaching qualification and registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland are essential.
This position is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful candidates will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check before starting employment, with costs paid by the candidate. The fee for a Full PVG Scheme Membership is £59; existing members pay £18.
