Job Title: Programme Manager

Organisation: Scottish Tech Army

Location: Edinburgh (Hybrid – Remote and Onsite)

Hours: One year contract, full-time, 35 hours per week

Salary: £30,000-£35,000 p.a.

About the Scottish Tech Army

The Scottish Tech Army is a not-for-profit organisation that brings together skilled volunteers with expertise in digital technology to support charities and other non-profit organisations. Our mission is to help the third sector harness technology to improve their effectiveness, reach, and impact. Since launching in 2020, we’ve supported over 550 organisations and engaged a growing community of over 3,500 volunteers with a wide range of skills—from data science and software development to marketing and cloud infrastructure.

We also run the Tech for Good Alliance, a UK-Wide initiative that partners with companies to create meaningful volunteering opportunities for their staff through impactful digital projects.

About the Role

A new Digital Capacity Building programme has been launched for National Lottery Community Fund grantholders across Scotland, helping charities of all sizes use technology to improve how they work, reach more people and strengthen their impact.

Through online “Ask Me Anything Digital” sessions, practical one‑to‑one support and access to reusable digital tools, charities can get free, expert help to make better use of systems, data and digital channels, supported by the Scottish Tech Army’s experienced volunteer and partner network.

We are looking for an experienced Projects and Programme Manager to help lead the delivery of a one-year pilot for this programme.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, this role is ideal for someone with 3–5 years’ experience in project or programme management, ideally in the tech, social impact, or volunteer engagement space.

Working alongside our Projects and Programme Manager at the Scottish Tech Army, and our team of experienced business analyst volunteers, you’ll be responsible for coordinating project requests and delivery generated through the Grant Holder Support programme, from initial scoping through to delivery, engaging with the grant holder organisations and both individual volunteers and partner companies.

In addition, you will support engagement with Grant Managers and Place Teams at the National Lottery to build confidence in spotting where digital technologies can strengthen funded projects and organisational resilience through practical guidance and consultation support.

This role is perfect for someone with strong project management skills and who wants to grow their leadership and delivery skills while working at the intersection of technology and social good, joining a small, passionate and committed team.
