The Role
We're looking for a motivated and client-focused Private Client Solicitor or Legal Executive, qualified to practise in England and Wales, to join our busy and expanding team. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Tavistock, where face-to-face service remains a valued part of our client experience.
You'll manage your own caseload, contribute to the department's continued success, and deliver exceptional legal services that reflect our values and commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Drafting Wills, Trusts, and Lasting Powers of Attorney
Managing Estate and Trust Administration
Advising on Inheritance Tax Planning
Handling Probates and related matters
Building strong relationships with clients and third-party referrers
Ensuring compliance with SRA standards and firm policies
Maintaining accurate records using our case management system
Taking financial responsibility for your matters (billing, cash flow)
Supporting business development and cross-referrals across departments
About You
We're seeking someone who is:
Qualified to practise in England and Wales
Professional, empathetic, and client-focused
Organised with strong time management skills
Technically proficient, with good IT and case management system experience
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
Essential:
3–5 years' PQE in private client work
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Desirable:
STEP qualification
SFE accreditation
Full, clean driving licence (travel to clients required)
