Lead the development of the Pathway's provision to ensure effective and successful study programmes, supporting learners with their specific needs through a person-centred approach. Create a Pathway that facilitates transition and progression, utilizing all resources effectively to maximize learner progress.
Responsibilities and accountabilities
1. Teach a caseload of 5 hours per week.
2. Line manage a team of teachers and a Deputy Curriculum Manager to ensure effective deployment and maximize learner progress.
3. Lead, plan, and manage the Pathway curriculum, coordinating with other managers for a cohesive study programme.
4. Collaborate with Safeguarding & Behaviour and Clinical Teams to maintain outstanding behaviour management.
5. Develop enterprise and employability activities with the employability team and external partners to create engaging curriculum opportunities.
6. Create an environment that promotes outstanding teaching, learning, and assessment; support staff development and professional growth.
7. Lead the annual self-assessment process, involving staff, and develop a quality improvement plan for the Pathway.
8. Produce an annual improvement plan for teaching and learning, coordinating training and development accordingly.
9. Ensure effective use of learning resources in collaboration with Pathway and LRC staff, especially for outside formal learning activities.
10. Lead improvement activities aligned with the Quality Improvement Strategy to enhance learner experience and outcomes.
11. Oversee standardisation and verification processes, liaising with external Standards Verifiers as needed.
12. Utilize Databridge and Strata to monitor performance data and implement remedial actions.
13. Work closely with teachers and Progress Coaches to promote excellent attendance.
14. Integrate ILPs and the Hereward Approach into the curriculum to maximize individual progress.
15. Ensure accurate target setting and progress recording through ILPs by staff and learners.
16. Support learners with effective transition into the Pathway and progression into employment or further study.
17. Develop employer partnerships to inform and enhance the curriculum and support progression.
18. Embed employability activities into the curriculum and coordinate with industry links.
19. Coordinate with the Exams Officer for course registration and documentation; collaborate with the Admissions Manager for effective IAG and admissions processes.
20. Promote and embed equality and diversity within the curriculum, aligning with the College’s equality and diversity plan.
21. Maintain and develop personal skills and knowledge through research and training.
22. Contribute to the development of College strategies, policies, and procedures.
23. Support the promotion of Green Skills and Sustainability initiatives across the College.
24. Manage the departmental budget effectively.
25. Perform any other duties as assigned by the line manager.
