We are hiring a casual Mental Health Substance Use (MHSU) Treatment, Support & Recovery (TSR) Worker to join our Mental Health team in Nelson, B.C.

The ideal candidate brings strong clinical assessment and case management skills, with the ability to build trusting therapeutic relationships while delivering evidence-based interventions that promote recovery, stability, and improved quality of life. This individual is comfortable working in community settings and responding to complex client needs across physical, psychological, and social domains. The successful candidate will demonstrate sound clinical judgment, strong documentation practices, and the ability to coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, community agencies, and family supports. The idea candidate is someone adaptable, culturally responsive, and committed to trauma-informed, person-centered care, with the ability to balance independent clinical decision-making with effective teamwork to ensure clients receive timely, responsive, and coordinated mental health and substance use services.

What Will You Work On?
The Treatment, Support and Recovery Team (TSR) provides case management services for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness living in the community.
The Treatment, Support & Recovery Worker functions as a member of the Hospitals & Communities Integrated Services (HCIS) health care team and as a member of a specific MHSU multi-disciplinary team whose purpose is to ensure that persons with severe and persistent mental health problems and/or problematic substance use issues have access to timely, responsive, evidence based treatment and clinical supports across the continuum of available services.
The Treatment, Support & Recovery Worker provides assessment, treatment, case management, community support and as required, urgent response to clients who may also have serious functional impairment in the domains of physical health and personal, family, financial, occupational, and social life. The Treatment, Support & Recovery Worker functions as a primary clinician utilizing a variety of specialized treatment modalities/therapies for individuals, groups of clients and/or their families.
Scheduling Information:
Shift times are from 08:30 to 16:30 hours. This is a Casual opportunity. Casual means there are no guaranteed hours and work requirements can vary from 0 - 37.5 hours per week. Many careers with us begin with casual employment and lead to permanent or temporary career opportunities.
