Nicholas Associates have an excellent opportunity for a Software & Electrical Controls Engineer, to join a leading industrial machine manufacturer in Yorkshire.
As the Software and Electrical Controls Engineer you will be responsible for designing, programming, and commissioning automation and control systems for machinery. This is a hands-on, project-based role requiring practical problem-solving across design, build, and site commissioning phases. You will be expected to travel to client site (UK wide), often with overnight stays.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Develop, test, and modify PLC software (typically ladder logic) for automated machinery, including safety PLC systems.
2. Design control circuits and electrical panels for equipment such as presses, handling systems, grinders, mixers, and extruders.
3. Produce detailed electrical schematics, panel layouts, and installation documentation in line with required safety and performance standards e.g. PLd.
4. Select, configure, and integrate control hardware, drives, sensors, and instrumentation.
