We are working with a leading not-for-profit organization to recruit a Head of Financial Accounting, a key leadership role within their high-performing finance team. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will lead a capable team responsible for all aspects of statutory and financial reporting.

You will oversee the group’s financial accounting activities, including statutory reporting, audit management, and the development of robust accounting policies and controls.

What will the Head of Financial Accounting role involve?
1. Leading on consolidated and entity-level financial reporting.
2. Overseeing year-end processes and managing the external audit.
3. Ensuring ongoing compliance with accounting standards (FRS 102 / SORP).
4. Supporting the development of robust controls and financial policies.
5. Collaborating with colleagues across finance, fixed assets, and senior leadership.
6. Leading, developing, and mentoring a team of qualified and part-qualified accountants.
Suitable Candidate for the Head of Financial Accounting vacancy:
1. Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with strong technical expertise in financial reporting, audit, and consolidation.
2. In-depth knowledge of FRS 102 and SORP.
3. Proven track record of leading high-performing finance teams and managing year-end processes.
4. Confident communicator with experience using ERP systems and engaging senior stakeholders.
