About the role:

1. Ensure that Health Promotion messages are integrated throughout the service.
2. Design and deliver workforce development and training across multiple alcohol and drug awareness domains to staff in the services.
3. Develop and provide bespoke training support to target groups, including Midwifery, Health Visitors, Accident & Emergency Departments and Housing & Health.
4. Provide substance misuse training for stakeholders and frontline professionals.
5. Provide on-going support and refresher training for those who have received training, with target audiences to include Primary Care, Housing and Social Care.
6. Lead the development and production of alcohol and drug- related resources for service-users, at-risk groups, older people, the wider workforce, and the general public to reduce harm, raise awareness and promote services, liaising closely with Public Health Specialists, Commissioners, and Health Promotion colleagues across the region to ensure joined-up working.
7. Contribute to Public Health initiatives and campaigns via all relevant strategic and implementation groups.
8. Lead on the content updating and ongoing development and promotion of the website and other social media platforms across the region, including relevant Change Grow Live website content.

About you:

9. Understanding of current developments and priorities in substance misuse policy at a national and local level.
10. Understanding of current substance misuse prevention and harm minimisation issues.
11. Understanding of current health promotion issues and debates including behaviour change theories and quantitative and qualitative models of evaluation.
12. Understanding of the Making Every Contact Count framework.
13. Good organisational and administrative skills.
14. Experience in planning, delivery, and evaluation of training programmes.
15. PTLLS or other accredited teaching qualification.
16. Good knowledge of IT software programmes and experience of website content development.
17. Experience and ability to develop, implement, maintain and evaluate effective Health Promotion strategies and programmes related to stakeholder that work with drug and alcohol use disorders.
