About The Role
Ready to lead engineering excellence at one of Europe’s largest infrastructure projects? Shape the future of nuclear energy and help Britain achieve net zero. At EDF, Success is Personal – and your career journey is yours to shape.
The Opportunity
As a Pressure Compliance Lead Engineer, you’ll take ownership of pressure systems compliance and structural integrity across your allocated scope at Hinkley Point C. You’ll be the go‑to specialist for ensuring that all compliance activities are delivered to the project’s quality, schedule and cost requirements, reporting directly to the Pressure System Integration and Completions Manager.
You’ll lead the development and implementation of compliance activities within your programme, acting as the single point of contact for all pressure systems requirements and associated project policies. You may also manage a small team of Mechanical Engineers to support delivery, while working closely with Senior Project Managers, the ONR, third‑party organisations and the wider supply chain to keep progress on track. This is a hybrid role based at AztecWest, with flexibility to work from home. You’ll be expected on site at least three days a week, travelling within mainland Europe as required.
Who You Are
* Expertise in pressure systems compliance and structural integrity, including equipment designed to RCC‑M or ASME codes.
* Experience working with regulators and supply chain partners, guiding them through pressure compliance requirements.
* The ability to operate effectively in a multidisciplinary, matrix‑style environment and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
* A practical, can‑do approach with strong communication skills and the awareness to involve technical specialists when needed.
* A degree in an Engineering or Science discipline, with chartership (IMechE preferred).
* Experience on large‑scale projects in highly regulated sectors such as nuclear, power generation or oil & gas, including multicultural project environments.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Leading pressure systems compliance and structural integrity activities for your allocated programme, ensuring requirements are fully developed and maintained.
* Applying project policies, processes and contracts pragmatically to deliver pressure systems regulatory compliance to the right quality.
* Acting as the technical decision‑maker for your programme on pressure systems regulation and structural integrity matters.
* Managing third‑party task orders and surveillance activities for your scope, ensuring effective oversight and delivery.
* Serving as the first line of escalation for the programmes you support, resolving issues and guiding stakeholders.
* Maintaining SQEP competence and resource levels in line with the nuclear baseline to support safe and compliant delivery.
