Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and hands-on Duty Manager to join the team at Manor House Hotel & Spa, a busy hotel with a strong focus on weddings, functions, and events. The Duty Manager will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the hotel in the absence of senior management, ensuring that all departments deliver excellent service and that weddings and events are executed seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
* Act as the senior manager on duty, ensuring the smooth running of the hotel at all times.
* Take responsibility for coordinating weddings, conferences, and events, ensuring client expectations are met or exceeded.
* Be the main point of contact for brides, grooms, and event organisers during their special day, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
* Work closely with the Food & Beverage, Kitchen, and Events teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
* Ensure guest service standards are consistently maintained across all areas of the hotel.
Team Supervision
* Support and motivate operational teams during shifts, providing guidance and leadership.
* Liaise with department managers to ensure staffing levels meet business demands.
* Lead team briefings before events and shifts to ensure clear communication.
* Promote a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and excellent customer service.
Guest Experience & Customer Care
* Act as the visible point of contact for all guests, handling any queries or complaints efficiently.
* Personally welcome VIP guests, wedding parties, and key clients.
* Ensure weddings and events run smoothly from arrival through to departure.
Health, Safety & Compliance
* Ensure all health, safety, fire, and licensing regulations are adhered to.
* Conduct regular walkarounds, identifying and addressing any maintenance or safety issues.
* Monitor the hotel during out-of-hours periods, including security and guest welfare.
Financial & Administrative Duties
* Oversee cash handling, banking, and till procedures.
* Assist with controlling labour costs and resources during shifts.
* Provide accurate handovers to the senior management team.
Skills & Experience Required
* Previous experience in a management role within hotels, weddings, or events.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* A calm and professional approach to handling pressure and problem-solving.
* Knowledge of weddings and events operations, with an eye for detail.
* Confidence in decision-making and leading a team.
* Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays in line with business needs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From £13.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
