We are seeking a Learning and Development Trainer/Teacher to join a global energy firm.
Ideally, you will be a STEM graduate with at least 5 years in teaching or instructing. Although the role is based within an energy/engineering environment, industry experience is not required. The company is happy to train on technical aspects, valuing engaging teaching and training skills.
We would consider candidates from the teaching or education sector looking to transition into industry.
Join our dynamic team in the energy sector, focusing on pipeline and terminal operations. We are seeking a skilled Training Specialist to leverage educational skills as our subject matter expert in staff training and competency management.
The role involves regular travel to locations including Avonmouth, Cardiff, Plymouth, Pembroke, Manchester, Dublin, and Belfast. Preference is given to candidates based near Avonmouth or Bristol, as they will be primarily located there.
Travel is approximately 50% of the month, with flexible scheduling.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and manage a curriculum for the Pipeline & Terminal group across multiple locations.
2. Research, develop, and deliver technical training materials for pipeline and terminal operations.
3. Assess team competencies and identify knowledge gaps for targeted development.
4. Manage relationships with external regulatory bodies (HSE, EA, NRW) and auditors to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

Educational and Professional Qualifications:
* Minimum: Higher Technical Qualification or Degree in a STEM subject (Physical Science, Technology, or Engineering).
* Ideal: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant STEM field.
* Experience: Minimum 5 years in teaching/instruction (Key Stage 3+), ideally 7+ years (Key Stage 4+).
Desired Abilities:
* Modern, enthusiastic, and inclusive teaching approach.
* Ability to transform written resources into engaging training sessions.
* Understanding of hazardous environments; knowledge of COMAH regulations is advantageous.
