Job Description
The Lola Yamaha ABT Formula E Team competes in the FIA Formula E World Championship, combining Lola's motorsport heritage, Yamaha’s technology, and ABT Sportsline’s expertise.
We are seeking a Senior Performance Engineer to join our trackside and simulator performance team. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer with a background in Formula E, WEC, LMDh, IndyCar, or F2, aiming to optimize vehicle performance during races and testing.
Key Responsibilities
* Support simulator sessions, test days, and race events.
* Analyze data from simulations and on-track performance to provide actionable insights.
* Contribute to decision-making processes during events through detailed analysis.
* Assist in simulator/model correlation and refinement efforts.
* Communicate effectively with engineers, drivers, and technical staff.
* Develop and improve in-house performance tools using Python, MATLAB, VBA, etc.
Candidate Profile
Required:
* 3–5 years of experience in high-level motorsport performance engineering.
* Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics and race performance.
* Experience with data analysis tools like ATLAS.
* Knowledge of vehicle dynamics simulation tools like Canopy.
* Methodical, precise, and analytical approach.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills under pressure.
Nice to Have:
* Advanced coding skills (Python, MATLAB, VBA).
* Experience with simulator/model correlation.
* Previous Formula E experience is a plus.
Education & Background
* Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Motorsport, or Electrical Engineering or related field.
* Proactive and self-motivated mindset.
* Strong interpersonal skills and team-oriented attitude.
