Pay Rate: £12.59 per hour
Hours: Full-time, 8:30am 5:00pm

We are looking for an experienced Benefits Assessor to join a busy and fast-paced local authority environment. You will be responsible for assessing all claims for Council Tax Support and contributing to the wider Benefits and Taxation function.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess all new and existing claims for Council Tax Support
Input and maintain data within Council Tax systems
Provide excellent customer service, including handling enquiries and general administration
Ensure accuracy in processing claims and communicating outcomes
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection policies
Work to deadlines and performance targets
Essential Requirements:
Recent experience in a Benefits and Taxation role
Sound understanding of Housing Benefit, Council Tax Support legislation, and related processes
Proficient in the use of Academy and Enterprise systems
Confident with Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to manage workload effectively and work to strict deadlines
