Overview
An exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Registered Mental Health Nurse to join the Older Adult Community Mental Health Team in Fife. The post is based at OA CMHT – Central at Whyteman's Brae Hospital, Kirkcaldy, and currently covers inpatients at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy.
Responsibilities
* Provide holistic assessment, treatment and care planning for older adults with mental health illness.
* Work collaboratively to deliver strength-based, person-centred care and to support discharge planning within the MDT.
* Lead and work as part of the team to inspire and support colleagues, with a focus on problem solving and risk management.
* Contribute to training and development sessions, including bespoke bite-sized sessions, and participate in care interventions for individuals displaying distress or stress.
* Engage in training, induction, caseload management and clinical supervision, with access to protected learning time.
* Establish strong working relationships with Acute Care clinicians and other team members to support holistic care for older adults in Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy.
Qualifications and Experience
* Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with experience working with older adults in the Mental Health Service.
* Non Medical Prescriber.
* Demonstrated knowledge and skills gained from experience working with older adults in mental health settings.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational and time management skills; ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
* Commitment to partnership working within the multidisciplinary team and to continuing personal development.
