Plastics Specialist Nurse | Outpatients | Part Time – 23hrs | Methley Park – LS26
Spire Methley Park are looking for an experienced plastics/cosmetics specialist nurse to join the friendly team in the Outpatients department. This role is 23hrs per week and is a permanent position, with excellent development opportunities. You will be available to provide service Monday – Friday.
Spire Methley Park Hospital situated in Methley in South Leeds, has recently completed a 7.6 million refurbishment, which included a new theatre equipped with cutting-edge technology enabling us to carry out complex surgery across a variety of clinical specialties. Duties and responsibilities
1. Responsible for providing a range of support services to the Nurses and Consultants during minor procedures
2. Running own nurse led clinics
3. Be the point of call for patients undergoing plastic surgery
4. Be a part of the patient’s full journey from pre-assessment to surgery to post discharge follow up
5. Responsible for ordering garments required for the speciality
6. Champion wound care post plastic surgery
7. Give advice to patients perioperatively
8. Maintenance of quality care delivery and documentation
9. Liaising and networking with other departments across the hospital
10. You will actively promote best practice and contribute towards quality improvements
11. You will work closely with plastics consultants
12. Chair plastics governance meetings
13. You will be required to attend all theatre procedures within the first 3 months of the role
Who we're looking for
14. Be NMC registered - your pin should not have any restrictions or conditions
15. Nursing degree certificate
16. Experience in running own clinics
17. Wound care/plastic surgery related training
18. Compassionate and able to showcase excellent patient care
19. Ability to multi-task
20. Strong communication skills
21. Able to carry out wound dressings and educate patients
22. Plastic Surgical Ward experience desired
23. Insight into the role evidenced on the supporting statement
