As an experienced pharmacist with extensive hospital dispensary experience, you will lead all aspects of medicines optimisation and medication use within the pharmacy dispensaries across North Tees & Hartlepool.
You will support medical and nursing teams, as well as allied health professionals, in the safe and effective use of medicines. You will manage and deliver services in accordance with relevant professional, ethical, and legal standards, as well as locally agreed policies, procedures, and guidelines. The post holder will contribute to the daily workflow in inpatient dispensaries, ensuring high-quality services for patients, hospital staff, and other service users.
Through excellent leadership skills, you will coordinate and participate in the management of the pharmacy dispensaries, contribute to professional, clinical, and accuracy checking of prescriptions, provide advice to service users, lead investigations of errors, and implement service improvements. Working within and leading a small pharmacy team, you will utilize appropriate skill mix to meet key performance metrics and ensure the service operates safely and efficiently.
The modernisation, improvement, and development of medicines supply are central to achieving our vision for pharmacy services. This role involves leading and delivering pharmacy services via Trust dispensaries, managing errors, providing intervention feedback, formulating procedures, and training.
