Senior Electrical Design Engineer
An established consultancy is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead electrical design delivery while overseeing junior team members and supporting project and commercial management activities.
This role combines hands-on technical design, team leadership, and client engagement. The successful candidate will manage projects from concept through to completion, ensuring delivery in line with programme and budget requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead electrical design across a variety of project sectors.
* Oversee and mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
* Deliver full design packages including specifications, drawings, schedules, calculations, and cost estimates.
* Manage projects in line with company procedures, programme, and budget.
* Monitor design team costs and contribute to financial reporting.
* Assist with fee assessments and preparation of bid submissions.
* Liaise directly with clients and attend project meetings.
* Conduct site surveys and produce technical reports.
* Carry out quality inspections and ensure compliance with standards.
* Use CAD and BIM systems in accordance with internal standards.
* Monitor and manage financial aspects of projects.
* Contribute to the development of internal electrical standards.
* Support business development and client relationship growth.
Experience Required
* Proven experience within a building services consultancy or contractor design environment.
* Project management of multi-disciplinary building services projects.
* Production of detailed specifications and design calculations (manual and software-based).
* Preparation of tender packages and tender analysis.
* Development of budget costings for building services.
* On-site project management experience.
* Production of condition and survey reports.
* Direct client liaison and stakeholder management.
* Management and mentoring of junior staff.
* Experience undertaking site surveys across the UK.

Qualifications
