Head of Social Media & YouTube

Role Overview :
The purpose of this role is to be responsible for leading the strategy, growth, and execution of JD Sport’s YouTube and social channels. The goal is to make these channels the go-to destination for youths in the sports lifestyle sector.
You will define and execute the strategy across JD sports channels, combining a data-oriented approach with a creative mindset to optimize all organic, paid, and community content.
Working closely with Heads of Fascia, social media, and the YouTube team, you will focus on driving growth of our social media and YouTube community, increasing affinity, engagement, share of voice, and positive sentiment to deepen brand love, drive awareness, site traffic, and sales to meet KPIs.
Expert knowledge in community management, organic growth, content creation, and paid social platforms is essential, along with the ability to adapt to changing business and market conditions.
You will be the main contact for all social media and YouTube initiatives, collaborating with various stakeholders to create high-quality multi-platform campaigns. Maintaining strong relationships with social media platforms and Google is crucial for continual innovation.
Key Duties/Responsibilities :
* Define and implement YouTube and social strategies aligned with brand marketing and e-commerce goals.
* Ensure growth and enhancement of JD Sports' social media channels.
* Develop and expand the JD Sports YouTube channel, aligning it with youth culture and brand strategy.
* Provide ongoing training and development in social media and YouTube sectors for personal and team growth.
* Report weekly, monthly, and quarterly trends and performance metrics.
* Maintain high-quality online conversations.
* Create engaging content concepts for social media and YouTube.
* Develop and execute paid social media strategies in collaboration with internal and external partners.
* Design campaigns that support brand awareness and affinity.
* Ensure social media and YouTube are central to JD Sports' marketing activities.
* Build strong relationships with stakeholders to promote consistent messaging.
* Expand channels and improve existing ones.
* Utilize monitoring tools for consumer insights, influencer targeting, and success reporting.
* Keep the wider business updated on social media and YouTube progress.
* Stay informed about new social media and YouTube technologies and share insights.
Skills/Experience/Knowledge needed :
* Extensive experience in social media and YouTube.
* Proven track record in leading organic growth and paid campaigns.
* Experience developing brand digital strategies for large organizations.
* Ability to analyze data to grow engagement and revenue.
* Strong functional competence and confidence.
* Experience with platform negotiations and onboarding at scale.
* Capability to manage campaigns from concept to evaluation.
* Adaptability to changing environments and tactics.
* Skill in devising social media strategies to support marketing campaigns.
