We are looking for a motivated person who is interested in helping to provide a safe, high quality Endoscopy Decontamination service to patients at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford.
Role Overview
You will work closely with the team to deliver the best care for our patients, under strict guidelines and protocols. Once training has been provided you will be consulted for advice and expertise regarding decontamination and best practice.
Key Responsibilities
* Manually clean and decontaminate flexible endoscopes before and after endoscopy.
* Manage endoscopy equipment so that scopes are ready for morning, afternoon and evening lists.
* Send scopes for service and repair when required.
* Provide advice on decontamination procedures and best practice.
Qualifications & Skills
* GCSE 9–4 (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
* Conscientiousness and strong attention to detail.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong documentation and record‑keeping abilities.
* Manual dexterity and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
* Experience in endoscopy or decontamination is desirable but not required.
* Commitment to work in a high‑volume unit (three procedure rooms running to full capacity).
Working Environment
The Endoscopy Unit provides a service to both outpatients and in‑patients undergoing gastroscopy, EUS, flexible sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy EBUS and PEG insertion. The unit operates seven days a week, including weekends and bank holidays.
