Our Junior Engineerposition is for someone who will ensure the smooth operation of the WDS Basildon sorter by performing preventative maintenance, responding to emergency repairs, and supporting the lead engineer. Basildon features a unique parcel over-labeller/sorter system, and this role is critical to keeping it running efficiently.
What You’ll Be Accountable For
* Performingpreventative maintenanceon the sorter and associated systems
* Responding toemergency repairsto minimise downtime
* Liaising with and reporting to the lead engineeron system performance and issues
* Troubleshootingunlabelled parcels and dump chute parcels
* Collaborating withOperations Managers and Supervisorsto ensure smooth workflow
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Qualifications:
* Engineering-related qualification preferred
Knowledge & Experience:
* Minimum1 year of practical engineering experience
* Previous experience withparcel sorter systemsis highly desirable
Technical & People Skills:
* Ability to give and receiveclear, constructive feedback
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, operational environment
