Our Embedded Systems Solutions department (ESS) encompasses all activities outlined under the Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) process framework, including systems engineering, software engineering, coding, and all levels of functional testing. Beyond core development, ESS also integrates critical supporting processes such as project management, risk assessment, functional safety, and cybersecurity, ensuring compliance with ASPICE standards and delivering reliable, secure, and high-quality embedded systems & solutions.
The Role:
you will take ownership of day-to-day operations in a cutting-edge lab environment used for low-voltage (LV) and high-voltage (HV) power electronics validation. Focused on inverter technologies within electric and hybrid vehicles, this role involves leading testing campaigns, ensuring safety compliance, mentoring junior technicians, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize product performance and reliability.
Area of Responsibility
1. Manage the daily operation of the electronics lab, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations for LV and HV activities, including ESD handling and risk assessments.
2. Lead inverter-level and power electronics test campaigns with autonomy and technical ownership.
3. Define test protocols, tailor lab setups to project requirements, and oversee rig commissioning and troubleshooting.
4. Maintain and calibrate test benches and specialized equipment (., HV rigs, load simulators).
5. Perform PCB assembly, test, debug, and rework/modification; IPC certification is highly desirable.
6. Design and build custom breakout boxes, test interfaces, and wiring harnesses for product validation.
7. Execute electrical, thermal, and mechanical characterization across a range of automotive applications.
8. Analyze complex lab data and provide actionable feedback to design and safety engineering teams.
9. Collaborate closely with product validation, controls, and system integration teams to resolve functional issues.
10. Mentor and supervise junior technicians, ensuring consistency in documentation, procedures, and lab discipline.
11. Support system-level inverter validation—experience beneficial, though not essential.
Knowledge / Experience
Required
12. Experience in automotive power electronics lab testing, with a focus on inverter systems, DC-DC converters, and onboard chargers.
13. Degree or higher diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Technology, or related discipline.
14. Expert-level hands-on experience in PCB testing, debugging, and modification.
15. Proficient with test lab instrumentation—oscilloscopes, multimeters, CAN tools, HV probes, and thermal imaging.
16. Solid understanding of HV safety, inverter topologies, control schemes, and vehicle architectures.
Preferred
17. IPC certification (., IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/7721).
18. Experience with wiring harness design, manufacture, and fault diagnosis.
19. Familiarity with LabVIEW, MATLAB, or Python for test automation and data processing.
Exposure to EMC testing, failure analysis, and interpreting electrical schematics.
