Job Summary
The Trust is seeking an experienced Locum Consultant Psychiatrist to provide high-quality clinical leadership and patient care across psychiatric services. The post holder will work within a multidisciplinary team, covering [ward/community team/CMHT/other relevant service] and contribute to the safe and effective delivery of mental health services.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide consultant-level psychiatric input to inpatients and/or community patients.
* Lead the multidisciplinary team (MDT) in clinical decision-making.
* Undertake assessments, formulation, diagnosis, and management plans for patients.
* Ensure compliance with the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and relevant NHS policies.
* Participate in clinical governance, audit, and service development initiatives.
* Provide supervision and teaching to junior medical staff and trainees.
* Participate in the consultant on-call rota (if required).

Essential Requirements
* Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
* Inclusion on the Specialist Register in Psychiatry.
* Section 12(2) MHA approval.
* Approved Clinician (AC) status.
* Experience of working in multidisciplinary teams within the NHS.
* Strong leadership, communication, and clinical decision-making skills.
Desirable
* Previous experience in more than one psychiatric subspecialty.
* Evidence of participation in quality improvement/service development projects.
* Academic or teaching experience.

Pay: £99.02-£130.80 per hour
Expected hours: 45 – 50 per week
