An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled, innovative and enthusiastic clinical pharmacist to join our team of Senior Rotational Pharmacists.
The successful candidate will be required to provide clinical pharmacy services to a wide range of specialties including: Medicine, Care of the Elderly, Surgery, Acute Admissions, Paediatrics, ICU and Antimicrobials on a rotational basis.
The pharmacist will work within a framework that allows progression to a band 7 role after 6 to 12 months if successful in meeting the progression criteria.
Main duties of the job
The role includes:
1. Providing expert pharmaceutical care to patients from admission to discharge on the wards.
2. Developing the role of the pharmacist in the multi-disciplinary team at ward level.
3. Day to day working with the medicines management technicians.
4. Providing prescribing advice and support to junior medical staff.
5. Educating patients about their medicines.
6. Training of medical and nursing staff.
7. Supervision and training of junior and foundation trainee pharmacists, technicians and assistants.
8. Participation in clinical audit, preparation of policies and procedures and involvement in risk management.
