An opportunity has for arisen for Clinical Support Workers to join the team on Ward 2 Furness General Hospital .
Ward 2 is a 24 bedded Trauma and Orthopaedic Ward. We are a very friendly team, who pride ourselves on giving the best care to our patients, and support for families and carers.
We are looking for enthusiastic, diligent and motivated individuals with previous care experience and flexibility to work day and night shifts.
You will receive structured appraisal, support and training.
Main duties of the job
Work in support of and under the direction of a Registered Nurse(RN) providing nursing care and assistance to patients within defined parameters specified by the registered nurse.
* Providing patients with high quality care and attention and ensuring patient safety maintained.
* Direct patient care:- Washing and dressing patients, mouth care, assisting with diet and fluids. Helping with toilet needs and mobility and prevention of pressure ulcers.
* Promote rehabilitation under the guidance of the Registered Nurse working with the multi-disciplinary team
Working for our organisation
We operatefrom three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, andUlverstonCommunity Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies,daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.

Person specification
Education and Qualifications
* Basic literacy and numeracy skills
* Willingness to undertake NVQ level 3 in care related area
* Completed Trust Support Worker Programme
* ECDL or equivalent
Experience
* Previous experience of working with the general public
* Manual Handling Patients using lift aids
Skills ability and knowldge
* Good basic hygiene skills
* Ability to work as part of a team, as well as on own initiative or with minimal supervision
* Care work
* Awareness of the NHS structure and current issues
