An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us as our Head of Traincrew Resources.
You will lead the planning, allocation, and operational deployment of Drivers and Senior Conductors to ensure a safe, reliable, and efficient train service across our network. You will own both the day-day and strategic resourcing, including roster delivery, rest day working, disruption recovery, and the application of resource agreements.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead strategy and planning for traincrew resourcing to meet current and future operational needs.
* Develop forecasting models and KPIs to track recruitment, training, attrition, and coverage costs.
* Build strong communication with Train Planning, Finance, and traincrew management teams for aligned delivery.
* Manage departmental budget and influence resource expenditure for efficiency and performance.
* Support collective bargaining and implement agreements to maximise availability and minimise risk.
* Drive adoption of new technology for rostering, planning, and deployment improvements.
* Manage industrial relations risk and ensure compliance with agreements.
* Deliver resourcing for fleet projects, timetable changes, and engineering works on time.
* Lead resource recovery during service disruption to maintain operational continuity.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Experience in managing industrial relations and applying collective agreements effectively.
* Understanding of traincrew operations, rostering, and diagramming processes.
* Commercially acumen with experience in budget ownership, cost control, and building business cases.
* Skilled in resource management systems (e.g., CrewPlan, Genius, Integrale) and data analysis for decision-making.
* Strategic thinker with resilience and ability to balance long-term planning and short-term delivery.
* Experienced in leading dispersed teams and driving engagement in a matrix environment.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including negotiation and influencing.
* Proficient in risk management and scenario planning for service recovery and industrial action.
* Strong knowledge of safety and compliance standards with commitment to safe working practices.
