Role Overview
Our Admin Officers play a critical role, providing excellent administrative support and customer service to court users, judiciary and management.
Responsibilities
* Prepare papers and files for court, tribunals, hearings and meetings.
* Create and update records on our in‑house computer system and input data.
* Record courts accurately, interpreting accurately the information required on a court file.
* Check and verify documents, records, accounts, claims and returns for approval, results, statistics, plans etc. against criteria, regulations or procedures.
* Collect and assemble information for returns, results, accounts, statements, warrants, statistical analysis and reports.
* Communicate with the public, the judiciary, other court and tribunal users and representatives of other agencies and organisations.
Skills and Experience
With a friendly and approachable manner, you’ll have excellent attention to detail and good written and verbal communication skills. You will be able to deliver proactive and effective support to customers by phone and email, be skilled in organising your time, prioritising efficiently, adapt to using various software packages, and enjoy working in a busy environment.

Working Arrangements & Further Information
Operational roles are customer facing; the successful applicant will be office based to provide HMCTS services to the public.
Standard full‑time working hours are 37 hours per week. HMCTS welcomes part‑time, flexible and job‑sharing working patterns where the demands of the role and business needs are met and agreed prior to appointment.
Applications for part‑time working would be considered however due to the nature of the role full days will be required.
Lead Criterion: Statement of Suitability. A sift based on the statement of suitability may be held if a large number of applications are received.
This post is based at Teeside Civil & Family Court, Middlesbrough, TS1 2AE. Regular travel to surrounding courts will be required.
