External Sales Executive/ Business Development
Location: Oldbury, West Midlands
Salary: Negotiable dependent on industry experience (+ Company Car + Bonus + Excellent Benefits)
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: Monday to Friday (office-based)
A well-established wood distributor is seeking an experienced External Sales Executive to join their growing sales team near to the Oldbury area.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and commercially minded sales professional with a background in timber or building materials to develop new business and manage key accounts across the region. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with the drive and industry knowledge to make a real impact in a growing business.

Key Responsibilities as Business Development:
1. Achieve area sales targets by increasing turnover and margin
2. Develop new business opportunities in both existing and emerging markets
3. Build and maintain strong customer relationships
4. Represent the business in a professional and consultative manner
5. Maintain CRM records in line with internal sales processes
6. Identify growth opportunities and support business development strategy
7. Manage customer accounts, ensuring compliance with credit terms
8. Resolve customer queries and ensure high levels of satisfaction
9. Accurately process orders and respond to inbound enquiries
Requirements for the Business Development position:
10. Proven experience in external sales
11. Strong knowledge of timber products or relevant experience in the timber or builders merchant industry
12. Self-motivated with a target-driven approach
13. Excellent communication and negotiation skills
14. Strong time management and organisational abilities
15. Commercially aware and confident working independently
16. Full UK driving licence
